The FDA approves an Indiana company’s genetically modified salmon and you won’t even know you’re eating it

The FDA has approved an Indiana company’s genetically altered salmon. It might be available at restaurants next year, but you may not know you are eating it.

This genetically modified salmon, known as AquAdvantage Salmon, is grown in indoor tanks in Indiana. This salmon can grow at a much faster rate and  requires 25 percent less feed.  According to the company, this type of salmon will be able to protect native  fish populations and marine ecosystems as it’s produced indoors. The salmon has been legal for sale in Canada.

Astrocytes play an essential role in regulating sleep. They are a cell in the brain that get rid of worn-out cells. The study discovered that sleep-deprived mice had more active astrocytes than well-rested mice, meaning the brain started eating itself.
