What Happens to Your Body When You Eat Cheetos

According to Medical Daily, pediatricians say that “Flamin’ Hot Cheetos send multiple children to the emergency room each year.” Cheetos that are made with maltodextrin, salt, sugar, monosodium glutamate, yeast extract, citric acid, Red 40 Lake, Yellow 6 Lake, Yellow 6, Yellow 5 can cause severe abdominal pain, ulcers and gastritis.

“We have a population who loves to eat the hot, spicy, not-real foods, and they come in [to the emergency room] with these real complaints,” according to the report. “The kids are being set up for ulcerations, erosions and… peptic ulcer disease.”

Toxic Ingredients in Cheetos

Red 40

Red 40 is a certified color that comes from petroleum distillates or coal tars.

Multiple studies published in journals such as Pediatrics, The Lancet, and Journal of Pediatrics show that some kids with ADD/ADHD are adversely affected by artificial food dyes. Red 40 also contains p-Cresidine, which the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services says is “reasonably anticipated” to be a human carcinogen.

Yellow 5

FDA tests demonstrate that  Red 40, Yellow 5, and Yellow 6 dyes are tainted with low levels of cancer-causing compounds, including benzidine and 4-aminobiphenyl in Yellow 5.

Yellow 5 has been shown to damage the ability of nerve cells to send and receive signals and may cause allergic reactions,  including bronchial asthma.

Yellow 6

Similar to other dyes, it is heavily linked to hyperactivity, especially in children. Multiple studies shows  it to have carcinogenic reactions in mice.

However, the FDA continues to justify the horrible side effects of artificial dyes on our bodes in spite of multiple studies highlighting these effects.
