Vaginal yeast infections (and other yeast infections) are common due in large part to a diet high in refined sugars and other refined foods, and antibiotics which kill bacteria, including beneficial bacteria that helps us digest our food and keep yeast in check. Yeast infections are very common after taking antibiotics. Unfortunately, most women turn to vaginal creams. Did you know that most feminine care products contain toxic chemicals? These chemicals can lead to serious health problems, such asbreast cancer, reproductive problems, asthma, and allergic reactions. Chemicals of concern commonly used in feminine care products include carcinogens, reproductive toxins, endocrine disruptors, and allergens.
Vaginal Cream Ingredients
One tube of vaginal cream containing miconazole nitrate 2%. One plastic applicator.
Active Ingredient: Miconazole nitrate 2% (100 mg per dose).
Inactive Ingredients: Benzoic acid, BHA, mineral oil, peglicol 5 oleate, pegoxol 7 stearate, purified water.
Toxic Ingredients Include:
Benzoic Acid is one of these preservatives that you should avoid. You’ll find Benzoic Acid in processed foods like cheeses, varying sauces as well as meats. Sadly, it’s also in cosmetic products and many pharmaceutical products, so it can be hard to avoid.
If Benzoic Acid is inhaled, it can cause damage to the nervous system. Eaten in food, it’s mildly toxic. Benzoic Acid has been linked to asthma problems and other respiratory issues.
BHA (butylated hydroxyanisole) used as preservatives in cosmetics and pharmaceuticals. BHA can induce allergic reactions in the skin The International Agency for Research on Cancer classifies BHA as a possible human carcinogen . The European Commission on Endocrine Disruption has also listed BHA as a Category 1 priority substance, based on evidence that it interferes with hormone function. Long-term exposure to high doses of BHA is toxic in mice and rats, causing liver, thyroid and kidney problems and affecting lung function and blood coagulation
Peglicol 5 Oleate and Pegoxol 7 stearate:
Polymers of ethylene oxide used as humectants, solvents, binders, emulsion stabilizers, and viscosity increasing agents in cosmetics.
